Now for some Aerosmith to tie in two of my favorite shows right now:

The studio version of Adam Lambert's cover of Aerosmith's "Cryin'" is a million times better than the performance.  Not gonna lie, I've had this on repeat all day.  Who knew when I made that Adam Lambert post back during Top 13 week I'd be this obsessed at this point. Maybe I'm biased (fck yeah Sundevils) but man, I love this guy.

And for some vintage Aerosmith, check out Josh Holloway aka Sawyer from LOST around the 3:25 mark. James has definitely come a long way haha. And this season's finale...my mind was blown. Damn you writers for pulling on my heart strings ;(

Slow Jamming the News

I haven't seen an episode of Jimmy Fallon's talk show or decided whether I think he'll be a success or a massive fail. And I don't know how I feel about The Roots as his house band. But this was pretty hilarious:

This...is American Idol

Now that we know the Top 13 contestants of Season 8, I think I will be going the root-for-your-hometown route and support my boy Adam Lambert. 

His Idol profile claims L.A. as his hometown but don't be fooled - he is a PQ boy at heart and a Deer Canyon/Mesa Verde/Mt. Carmel graduate. Yayuh.

So he can be a little over the top for my taste when it comes to the shrills and vocal gymnastics, but he has a damn impressive range. He's one of those people whose style you either love or loathe. I think if he learns how to tone it down for the show, he has a pretty good chance of making it far into the competition. Vocally speaking, very Axl Rose to me. Maybe a little Robert Plant at times and David Bowie, vibe-wise. Some people say Freddie Mercury, but it's hard for me to compare someone to who I regard as probably the greatest rock vocalist of all time. 

Anyways, did I mention he's fab as hell? One thing's for sure, he's got the glam rock thing down. Idol needs a little edge these days.

Video Killed the Radio Star

I never would have anticipated doing 2 MTV-related posts in a row, but I thought this was pretty interesting so I thought I would share with you guys. Now that Making the Band is over for now, America's Best Dance Crew is ending soon and I know not everyone is anticipating the Hills comeback tonight, you guys must be thinking "OMG what on earth am I going to watch on MTV now???" Well for the month of April you have one more option:



That's right. MTV is bringing back Yo! MTV Raps for the month of April to celebrate it's 20th anniversary. I say MTV should take note and bring back some of these other classics:

Undressed

I can't believe I used to feel bad for watching this show but now I wish I could rewatch all the episodes just for the sheer hilarity of it. If you ever get the chance make sure to keep an eye out for everyone who made an appearance on the show, then unknowns, like Adam Brody, Jay Hernandez, Autumn Reeser, Chad Michael Murray, and Brandon Routh. I kept waiting to see if they would ever cross the line and show some real crazy stuff, but that never really happened. Ahh to be young and naive.

Daria

This show was so good - the writing and humor on this show was very smart and suprisingly way above MTV standards. What's even funnier is that I can think of people in high school who fit some of the characters perfectly.

Singled Out

MTV can get rid of Next, Dismissed, Parental Control, Date My Mom, and The X Factor if they would bring back the show that started it all. Either that or stop using the same corny lines for every series.

Here's a quick entertainment update for some of my favorite shows right now :

Gossip Girl

-So lately there have been reports that O.C. alum Mischa Barton was approached for a role on Gossip Girl as Georgina Sparks, a drama queen who brings up Serena's troubled past just as Serena is trying to clean up her act. Fortunately, she turned down the role so she can pursue...? The girl hasn't really done much since her Marissa Cooper days except the occasional Keds campaigns and DUI/marijuana possession, and that's about it. I never really liked her on the O.C. so now that her potential to ruin one of my favorite shows has been denied, I can optimistically anticipate the return of this show. Being a bitch has never seemed more fun thanks to my girl Blair.

Lost

-Am I right or am I right when I said last week's episode was going to be awesome? The whole plot with time travel/the constant thing was so crazy and intense but still easy to comprehend, compared to the show's other "out there" plot lines. If I wasn't watching the episode with the guys, the flood gates would've opened and I probably would've bawled like a little baby during the Desmond/Penny phone call. Ugh, so cute.

Making the Band 4
-I'm actually considering getting both Day 26's and Danity Kane's albums. It's not really thought-provoking stuff but I'm always down for some feel good albums that are just fun to listen to. Here are some snippets from both albums for you to make your own opinions about them.



As much as I love this show, I have to admit I miss the "gotcha gotcha/boom-kac" sometimes.
